Welcome to my health blog. I am a 29 year old living with a range of strange and confusing medical symptoms and conditions including various functional/neurological disorders, Endometriosis, PCOS, Raynaud's Disease
and seronegative Hughes Syndrome. This blog is to document my struggle with doctors and the impact these illnesses have on my life. I hope that in some small way, my experiences will give others who are in similar situations some sort of strength or some form of comfort. Thanks for visiting!

Some may question my choice of title but if you are ill constantly and seem to always have your brain on pain and discomfort that's making your life very difficult, you begin to feel that perhaps you are a hypochondriac or what's worse, that other people see you as one. Whether you are or not, you still feel pain, sadness, and dispair which brings me to this quote from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling:

"Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?" - Albus Dumbledore

Random monthly face nasties.
(Above) Nasty monthly skin rash/blister things that appear - been to see the doctor but he really didn't know what it is. Just keeps spreading..

Just a little bit of hairloss?

Little more leg bruising than usual.

One side normal, one side wonky! :( Smile attempted anyway.

(Below)Yep.. this is me, stroke face an all. All these photos were taken to the doctors, most of whom chose to ignore them and insist that this was 'anxiety'. They aren't pretty but there we go..

After attempting a walk.

Broken face and numb limbs after one evening attack.
Same evening, loss of control of most muscles.
Many weild leg marks!

Circulation problems.. much?

Beginnings of the facial rashes.

Odd socks..

Cold cold fingers.

The livedo and knee swelling.

Blotchy blotchy!

More cold extremities.

Skin mottling. (livedo)

Anxiety.. for sure.

  1. I know this post is old, but I was hoping you may have gotten answers since taking these pictures.
I'm 27 years old, and have been experiencing nearly identical symptoms for over one year. It all seems to flare-up at least once per month. I can barely function anymore, and it's interfering with my daily life. I've seen multiple doctors, even specialists, to no avail. Did you ever figure out what was going on with yourself? Please, help me!

  2. Looks like cutaneous lupus. I’m in the process of being diagnosed myself. I’ve had hair loss, achy joints, lesions in my face like yours, spots on exposed areas (legs, arms, next, upper back) it’s painful and not itchy. I’m using a steroid ointment and it’s helping somewhat. I had a skin biopsy which will confirm diagnosis. I’m a Rheumatology nurse! I’m mortified I have this. All the best with your diagnosis
